These beads remind me of the Art Deco sculptures of Erte. I think I’ve seen this ocean wave pattern in the frescos of the old Art Deco movie theaters.
These are another fun style to watch Dave make. For the swirls he takes a long, noodle looking strand of glass (called a stringer) and pokes it onto the hot bead. Twisting the stringer makes the molten glass swim into swirls. And then he pulls out his little brass smoosher and smooshes them flat (incredibly technical description, huh?).
These smooshed beads are incredibly comfortable to wear as a bracelet…they’re not constantly conking into things like big round bracelets can be. I’ve combined it with citrine and silver beads and finished it with an adjustable clasp so it fits you just right.
